This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Easter egg hunt in Year 1

Year 1 children had a wonderful time trying to find the Easter eggs they had designed.
A huge thank you to Mrs Labiche for hiding all the eggs and making our Easter egg bags.

We hope you all had a very nice Easter holiday and are ready for Summer term!

Reception's Living World

In Reception this week we have begun to explore our theme of "The Living World". We have been focussing on our garden and finding living creatures. The children have found spiders, ants, slugs and centipedes and are looking out for them. We thought about what animals makes an animal a minibeast and began to group them. As well as hunting for minibeasts this week, Reception have planted our own Sunflowers. The children discussed what our plants would need and we stared by filling the pots with compost. The children then took a seed and examined it carefully - "Look it has black and white lines!" After planting their seed in the pot the children were ready to water and they hope our sunflowers will grow as tall as giants - we'll see!

If music be the food of love, play on

Our Year 1 children have spent the last couple of weeks learning about how to be lyricists. They started by looking at songs written by some very famous lyricists including, Sir Elton John, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sir Timothy Rice and Alan Menken.

Over the next week, they worked with a friend to write their own lyrics. We started this process by listening to some instrumental music and finding a story for our song. There songs used descriptive language, alliteration and rhyme.

We are so proud of the songs you all wrote. Well done!
