This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Year 1 Theatre Trip

Our Year 1 children were lucky enough to go and see a show called ‘Grandad’s Island’ at The Albany Theatre in Deptford.

It was an amazing opportunity for our children to experience live theatre, which included actors, set, staging, lights and music. The show told a story about the relationship between a Grandfather and Grandson and some of the adventures they go on. This show has been touring the UK since February and is running its last weeks in Deptford.

A huge thank you to the parents who came with us and to Mrs Saunders for coming on the Wednesday. Our children made an incredible audience and represented our school very well. Well done to all our Year 1 children!

Mrs Labiche and Mrs Osborne

I thought the show was great because it made me laugh.

I felt so excited because the show was epic and Grandad and Sid had such an amazing friendship.

I felt surprised when they went to the jungle.
- Leighton

My favourite part was when Grandad went into the attic
- Zayden

I liked when the cat popped out of the window. It was very funny.
- Mileta

My favourite part was when they went on a pirate adventure. I liked seeing the lights and the background change.
- Imanie

I got to speak to the actor during the show and tell him where to find shade. It was amazing.

The New Roots Growth Workshops Holiday Club

Over the Easter holidays, we were lucky enough to have The New Roots Growth Workshops Holiday Club held here at St Mary Magdalen’s. The holiday club was run by New Roots Community Group, a not-for-profit group founded by our very own Ms Antwi, and featured lots of fun character building activities for the children.

The activities included everything from positive affirmations, art therapy, cinema trips and candle making. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and parents spoke of the positive impact the club had on their children.

We will be back again in the May half term so do come along to join in on the positive fun!

St Mary Magdalen's Summer Ball

Grown-ups, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for the event of the year!

St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School is holding a fundraiser at the beautiful Rivoli Ballroom on Friday 15th June 2018, to raise money for new school equipment (30 Amazon Kindle Fires) which will make a huge difference to the children’s learning.

There will be music & dancing, an auction hosted by the hilarious comedienne Judi Love, and lots more!

We would love you to support our school and can do so in the following ways by:
Agreeing to put up a Rocodells estate agent board outside your house for three weeks from the end of May
Donating something for our auction
Buying tickets!!
Family and friends are welcome and tickets are now on sale most days in the playground from a member of the committee, or from the office.

Please contact the PTA committee if you would/could help in any way by emailing or you could contact the School Office directly.

This is a fantastic way of bringing our school community together, which is very important to us.

Thank you for all your continued support.

The St Mary Magdalen’s Summer Ball Committee.
