This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

W.E. Day

Yesterday our School Council and other selected pupils had the wonderful pleasure of attending WE Day 2018. We Day is an unparalleled event bringing together world-renowned speakers, A-list performers and tens of thousands of young people to celebrate a year of action that has transformed communities and changed many lives.

Here at St Mary Magdalen’s, the School Council have been working extremely hard, behind the scenes, to create fundraising drives and activities in school to help their chosen causes and charities, such as our book sale to raise money for the homelessness charity, Shelter.

It was lovely to meet up with like-minded children and celebrate the work we have been doing to help our community. We heard inspirational talks from Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who were moved by Katie Piper’s emotional story of courage and perseverance. We were all reminded about the importance of appreciating and loving yourself. The day was a great success and we cannot wait to feedback all the positive motivation we received into our work at school and within the local and wider community.
