This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

National Shakespeare Week

On Monday 12th March our Chair of Governors, Danny McGrath, who works at the world renowned Guildhall College of Music and Drama, brought in two of his actors, Paapa Essiedu and Edwin Thomas.
This was a wonderful way for us to launch our National Shakespeare Week with all children and staff enjoying this assembly and seeing Paapa perform.
Paapa read some extracts from Shakespeare’s famous play, Hamlet. Our children were also given a chance to ask Paapa questions about his journey as an actor and how he sets about rehearsing Shakespeare, with its unique language and idioms.
Please read the following reviews of Paapa’s RSC Hamlet production to find out more about the amazing actor we got to meet.
We want to say a huge thank you to Paapa, Edwin and Mr MrGrath for coming to our school and sharing your skills and knowledge about Shakespeare.
We are looking forward to spending the week exploring different Shakespeare texts around the school. Let’s hope that some of our children, having enjoyed some Shakespeare this week, will also go on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
