This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Roaring with the Lions!

Today we were lucky enough to receive a visit from the Captain of the London Lions Basketball team, Joseph Ikhinmwin and 400m runner Omar Hutchinson. Joseph spoke to Year 5 and Year 6 before they left for the Royal Albert Hall and then ran an assembly for the rest of the school. Joseph told the children about how he got into basketball and how playing basketball has taken him to the United States and all around the United Kingdom. The children were able to ask Joseph lots of questions about his career and how he got into basketball before playing a quick game with the children that tested their reaction times. At the end of the game there were two winners, Erik and Maja, who received a signed wrist band each!

After assembly it was time for our exercises. All the children have been preparing for their exercises over the last two weeks to make sure they could keep going for the whole minute for each exercise. Year 4 went first cheered on by a raucous Year 3 and then each class went in turn until finally Reception class came and did their exercises with Omar and Joseph. Years 5 and 6 completed their exercises after returning from the Royal Albert Hall with Mr Pinks in the afternoon.

Now the children have completed their exercises it’s time to collect their sponsorship money and return it to the School Office by no later than Wednesday 18th October 2017 if they wish to receive their prize for their money raising efforts.

I would like to say a big thank you to Joseph and Omar for coming to visit our school today and to all the staff that helped run the event for all of the children. I would also like to thank all the children for their fantastic effort with all of the exercises and I know they thoroughly enjoyed the event.
