This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

WE Assembly

On Friday 21st April 2017 St Mary Magdalen’s were fortunate enough for Poppie Jones, from WE Org, to come in and do a school assembly. She told us all about the WE Organisation and what they stand for ‘WE is a movement that empowers people to change the world’. We also learnt about how the movement started and how we as a school can be part of it.

The children were all mesmerised with Poppy’s engaging story of how she became a WE volunteer through doing a bike run in aid of Cancer research. One key message that stood out was that through campaigning and volunteering, all of us have the ability to make a change in this world- one person at a time.

Some classes were lucky enough to have a workshop with Poppy after the assembly to help develop their ideas. Year 3 have already started working on their campaign ‘St Mary Magdalen’s Against Bullying’ so watch this space for some great work to come from all of us as a school.
