This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

St Mary Magdalen’s Gets Growing – Spring Update

We need help to prepare our Kitchen Garden (behind the school kitchens) ready for planting by the children in the spring.  So we are organising a couple of volunteer sessions as follows:

Thursday 16 March and Thursday 23 March, both 1.30 to 4.30 in the afternoon.

We need to make progress on the following:
  • Weeding and digging
  • Building compost bins
  • Constructing plant beds with wooden frames
The resources – do you have any of these being unused or perhaps you know somebody who does?
  • Planters – these are large plant pots
  • Wooden planks/timber (sizes from 120x15x2cm up to scaffolding boards)
  • Screws, nails, rope and string
  • Outdoor/indoor compost bins, any size
We will provide tools and you are welcome to bring your own as well.

Please let me or the Office know if you can make one or both of these sessions.  Many hands make light work . . .
