This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

'Great Expectations' - What larks, Pip!

Last Wednesday, Yr.6 were invited to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to watch a production the Charles Dickens classic ‘Great Expectations'.

The class have already been studying the many themes of the novel such as affection, loyalty, and conscience, noting that these are more important than social advancement, wealth, and class.  These themes are very much related to the Catholic and British Values the whole School has been reflecting on this term.

Our pupils watched as the play introduced Pip as the principal character and how his life changes when he finds a criminal on the run from the authorities. The pupils were very attentive, part of a large audience watching the production.

We would like to thank Danny McGrath, Chair of the Governing Board, for arranging this event, and to Fabienne Borget for helping the pupils on this visit.
