This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Celebrating Success 2016 PiXL Primary

Mrs Saunders (Associate for PiXL), Mrs Marsh and Ms Bekir celebrated the academic success and resilience of three Year Six pupils - Iza, Mia and Chloe.  They went to the Dominion Theatre to share, with other schools, our pupils’ achievements in School and in the Key Stage Two tests, which this year has proved particularly challenging due to the changes in the test papers.

PiXL (Partners in Excellence) provide resources and an academic tracking system to chart pupils’ progress in English and Maths.  Mrs Saunders introduced PiXL to St. Mary Magdalen’s four years ago and through the hard work and dedication of teachers and teaching assistants, has been a vital part of our academic success.

At the glorious venue of the Dominion Theatre, on a West End stage, we enjoyed outstanding performances by pupils from many of the schools attending.  Stunned by the talent shown, we are confident they will stars of the future.

James Cracknell, Olympic Gold Medal winner, sportsman and adventurer gave a truly inspiring speech, about his journey to success including the setbacks he has had to face. He talked about how he overcame these setbacks, the resilience and self-belief needed to complete the challenges he had set himself.  He told the children what he had learnt from working as part of a team. I am sure the audience left feeling any personal challenge they had set themselves would be possible.

A big thank you to our pupils who, through their sheer determination, have excelled beyond expectation and made the School and their families proud.  Thank you to PiXL for giving us an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of pupils from schools nationally.
