This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Year 1's tomato plant experiment

Last Friday, Year 1 had a look at how well their tomato plants had grown. One had been in the dark and the other had been in the light

Here are some of the children’s thoughts:
  • Perhaps the plant in the dark grew taller because it had more water?
  • Maybe the plant in the dark germinated quickly?

Most of the children correctly thought the more healthy plant was the one that had been in the light.  Although it was shorter it had a flower and was not at all floppy!

After that we all picked and ate some of the lettuce we had grown!
