Mr. Bowes demonstrates the varying buoyancy of different objects |
Just before half term children enjoyed a practical Science Assembly about ships and floating to link with this terms topic of Exploration and Discovery. Children from across the School were invited to help Mr Bowes with the live experiments.
During assembly children worked out that fizzy drinks cans with more salt and sugar in are likely to sink, while those with less or no salt and sugar are more likely to float!
Finally Mr Bowes challenged the whole School to investigate the forces that help ships float, something that many of the children will have been following-up over the half-term break.
