This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

Fundraising for 'Mary's Meals'

The Order of the Knights of St.Columba’s current nominated charity is Mary’s Meals.  The charity, named after Mary, Mother of Jesus, aims to provide one meal every school day to hungry children in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and South America. In this way the children are encouraged to gain the education that can lift them out of poverty later in their life.  The charity is currently feeding 923,572 children but there are many more who need its help.

During Lent we would like to invite all children to support ‘Mary’s Meals’.  All you need to do is:

1. buy a tube of Smarties
2. eat the Smarties (before Lent begins on Weds 18 February)
3. keep the empty tube and fill it with 5p and/or 20p coins
4. return the filled tube to School by Fri 20 March

All families who take part will be entered into an Easter egg prize draw to be drawn on Weds 25 March in morning assembly - so ensure that your Smartie tube is labelled!

We do hope that you will join us in fundraising for this worthwhile cause.
