This is a nurturing environment where children, staff, parents and governors know each other and share a common understanding of the School’s purpose – to ‘aim high’ and through shared understanding of Gospel values, ensure that the potential of every child is fully achieved. Our children are happy, sociable, well-behaved and value our diversity, which enriches everything we do. We are recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the local authority and are confident this will be endorsed at our next Ofsted inspection.

A message from our Head Teacher

Dear Parents, Prospective Parents, Carers and Children,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St.Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School blog.  We are using this blog temporarily as a means of communicating with you whilst the Police continue with their investigation into the ‘hacking’ of  School’s website. Nevertheless we still hope that through this blog you will see some of the variety and challenge we offer through a rich and stimulating curriculum, taught in a friendly, calm, caring and well-resourced environment.  I trust you will find the blog useful as a source for information on aspects of life in School.  We encourage our new and prospective parents to browse through recent posts and share the information with your child.

Our School serves families in the Parish of St.Mary Magdalen's and beyond.  We are an inclusive School, reflecting the rich diversity of families in our locality.  St.Mary Magdalen’s is also a School situated in the heart of London, with all the opportunities and challenges that brings. We provide full-time education for 204 children between 4-11yrs and we encourage everyone to share, grow and flourish in faith and love.

We are a small, thriving, friendly School, dedicated to the success of our children.  Our staff, Governing Body, Parish and local community all strive to enable each child to grow personally, academically, socially and spiritually, with God at the centre of their lives.  All of us respecting and acknowledging each other’s differences, within a safe and secure learning environment.  All of our children are encouraged to be happy motivated learners and to aspire to and achieve the highest standards they are capable of attaining, as well as enjoying the many opportunities and challenges offered to them.  We strive to promote in all members of our community an awareness of personal worth and self-confidence, as well as an awareness of their responsibilities to self and others.  Even when mistakes are made, we recognise them as opportunities for learning.  Our children display very high standards of behaviour, when both working independently, or as part of a team.  They are polite, well-mannered and are a credit to the School.

It is our firm belief that our children’s education and wider needs are best served through a close partnership between home and School and between the home, School and Parish. This partnership is based on the principle that whilst the School and Parish have crucial roles in the education and growth of each child, parents are their first teachers and the greatest influence in a child’s life.  At St.Mary Magdalen’s we encourage you to become involved in your child’s learning and in the life of the School and Parish.  We aim to provide a welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to come and discuss any difficulties, problems or uncertainties where the education and well-being of your child is concerned.

We look forward to working with you and your child and to having your involvement in the life of the School.
